About

Support America’s National Ballet Company ® DONATE NOW One of classical ballet’s grandest achievements, The Sleeping Beauty brings the beloved fairy tale of Princess Aurora to magnificent life. At her christening, the evil fairy Carabosse places a curse on the infant princess: on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger and die. But the Lilac Fairy softens the curse, decreeing that Aurora will instead fall into a deep sleep, to be awakened only by true love. Years later, as Aurora celebrates her sixteenth birthday, the curse is fulfilled—and her fate rests in the hands of a fairy godmother, a courageous young prince, and the power of love. Filled with magic, romance, and some of the most celebrated choreography in the classical repertory, The Sleeping Beauty is a dazzling celebration of good triumphing over evil.
