About

Advent is a season of expectation and preparation, as the Church prepares to celebrate the coming (adventus) of Christ in his incarnation. This service begins this Cathedral’s annual celebration of these great mysteries. On Saturday 28th November 2026 at 6.30pm there will be a spectacular service of darkness and light, music and the spoken word, mirroring the journey of the human race from the darkness of sorrow and death into the light of Christ’s dawning Kingdom.
