About

Diwali (also called Deepavali, “row of lights”) celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Lakshmi and prosperity — Diwali is strongly associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. Return to inner light — beyond the mythology, the festival carries a spiritual theme of dispelling inner darkness (ignorance) with inner light (knowledge/awareness) — a theme that resonates closely with yogic and Vedantic teaching, which is likely why it often gets woven into ashram and yoga community celebrations.
