About

Five young musicians founded the Fokus Ensemble in 2022, devising innovative and original concepts to build connections and inspire their audience. They bring music to those with limited access to it through the “Concerts du Cœur” association and offer young children an interactive project called “Le Chat Botté.” In 2023, the ensemble won the “Paul Juon” competition. Sarah-Maria Schmid, a former student of Radu Cotutiu, studied music in Munich and Basel. She performs regularly with orchestras and teaches music at the Allgemeine Musik Schule Oberwallis.Pauline Zahno trained in Basel, winning the Marianne and Kurt Dienemann Foundation Prize in 2021. She teaches at the Fribourg Conservatory. Alexander Rauch studied in Karlsruhe and Lausanne. He won the Kiwanis Prize in 2016.
