Merit Badge Program – Railroading

Southern California Railway Museum is excited to announce a new change in our Railroading Merit Badge Program – now open to whole troops! Troops will have use of Town Hall, receive time behind the throttle, and a tailored docent tour. Overnight camping is also available as an add-on! Scouts will explore the history, technology, and operations of railroads while getting a rare chance to get behind the throttle of a real train or trolley. From learning how locomotives work to understanding the basics of track safety and signaling, this program offers hands-on activities that bring railroading to life. It’s a unique opportunity for Scouts to experience the thrill of operating a piece of railroad history and gain a deeper appreciation for this vital mode of transportation.
