About
This October and November, the Clark hosts a series of silent slapstick comedy films that highlight quick wit, precarious situations, and hilarious mishaps. The series continues with The Navigator (1924). Buster Keaton’s brilliant 1924 comedy about a rich, inept young man’s embarrassing attempt to get married is more than it seems. It also manages to be a cagey and brilliant send-up of 1920s anti-immigration law, cleverly taking xenophobia to its logical extremes while still managing to poke fun at anarchist violence. (Run time: 1 hour and 30 minutes)
