История
Hotelier Anton Bon and Swiss architect Karl Koller brought the project to life. Marie Bon co-ran the hotel until Anton’s death in 1915. The Candrian-Bon family continues to guide it today.
- 1911Construction began on 22 April. Four hundred workers completed the building in December.
- 1912Suvretta House opened on 16 December before 200 invited guests. It had 250 rooms, 370 beds and 110 bathrooms, plus a library, music room and grand dining room.
- 1919Vaslav Nijinsky gave his last public performance at the hotel.
- 1935A lift linking the hotel to Randolins opened, among Switzerland’s first ski lifts. Actor Douglas Fairbanks Sr. cut the ribbon and rode first.
- 1941–1946The hotel closed because of World War II.
