Historie
German Bestelmeyer designed it, and construction was completed in 1914. After serving as a luxury hotel from 1951, the property was bought by Berlin families in 1991 and reopened in 1994 with 54 rooms. Patrick Hellmann redesigned it in 2015.
- 1911Walter von Pannwitz commissioned German Bestelmeyer to design the residence and helped shape it in detail. It was built for his marriage to Catalina Roth and to house the couple’s art collection.
- 1914Palais Pannwitz was completed in the Italian Renaissance style after two years of construction.
- 1920After Walter von Pannwitz died, the palace remained mostly unoccupied for more than 20 years.
- 1951Restaurateur Wolfgang Gehrhus leased the building and opened a luxury hotel.
- 1984After Gehrhus died, the property fell into disrepair.
