Historie
The hotel began as the Pension Faller and grew into a winter destination under Johannes Badrutt. Its grounds later became associated with winter sports and Olympic events.
- 1856Johannes Badrutt founded the hotel, which began as the twelve-room Pension Faller rented by Badrutt and Maria Berry.
- 1858Badrutt bought the hotel and named it Engadiner Kulm.
- 1864It became the first hotel in St. Moritz to open in winter; following Badrutt’s bet, four English summer guests stayed until Easter.
- 1884The hotel helped build the Cresta Run for winter sports.
- 1904The natural-ice Olympia Bobrun opened on the grounds, running from St. Moritz to Celerina.
