Historie
Howard Fox renamed it the Clifton Inn in 1923; after remodeling, it became the Fox Head Hotel in 1926. The original hotel closed in 1958 and was partly converted to Tussaud's Waxworks when it reopened. A new motor inn opened in 1966; the 14-storey building was gutted and expanded by eight storeys before reopening in 2000.
- 1890sThe Parkside Inn, the first hotel on the site, was built.
- 1923Howard Fox bought the Parkside Inn and renamed it the Clifton Inn.
- 1926After remodeling as a fake old English inn, it became the Fox Head Hotel.
- 1951Sheraton Hotels bought the property, then called the Foxhead Hotel.
- 1958The original hotel closed and reopened the next year, with its west end converted to Tussaud's Waxworks.
