Boxing Day on the Gold Coast can be a shopping expedition, an unhurried day by the coast or a booked family outing after Christmas. Choosing one main purpose makes the day easier to enjoy, particularly when retail queues, holiday traffic and summer weather compete for your time. Boxing Day falls on Saturday 26 December 2026, with an additional Queensland public holiday on Monday 28 December. The extra holiday does not move Boxing Day sales or individual venue bookings automatically to the Monday. Check the actual date and opening hours of the business you plan to visit.
