The Sleeping Beauty

One of classical ballet’s grandest achievements, The Sleeping Beauty brings the beloved fairy tale of Princess Aurora to magnificent life. At her christening, the evil fairy Carabosse places a curse on the infant princess: on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger and die. But the Lilac Fairy softens the curse, decreeing that Aurora will instead fall into a deep sleep, to be awakened only by true love. Years later, as Aurora celebrates her sixteenth birthday, the curse is fulfilled—and her fate rests in the hands of a fairy godmother, a courageous young prince, and the power of love. Filled with magic, romance, and some of the most celebrated choreography in the classical repertory, The Sleeping Beauty is a dazzling celebration of good triumphing over evil.
