History
Its position near fast roads and 24-hour opening attracted motorcyclists. An air raid on nearby railway yards badly damaged the building; it reopened in 2001 after 25 years closed. licensed the Swiss café to open. Later developments included a motorcycle clothing shop and winter raclette hut in 2016, a spare-rib food truck during its 2020 closure, and rotating entrance-container displays from 2022.
- 1938The original Ace Cafe opened beside a London bypass for travellers, especially truck drivers. Its proximity to fast roads and round-the-clock opening attracted motorcyclists.
- Second World WarAn air raid on nearby railway yards badly damaged the original café building.
- 2001The original Ace Cafe reopened after 25 years closed.
- 2015The Rothenburg café opened five months after construction began. Its three-day opening celebration included concerts, hundreds of classic cars and motorcycles, and drew 11,000 guests.
- 2016British Parts opened at the café, selling clothing and motorcycle gear from European, Japanese and American labels. A winter hut also served raclette.
