History
Adrian first sketched the bar's concept in pencil, lying on a sofa late at night. The founding idea was that fast food need not be bad and espresso need not be thin. Investors funded the bar, seeing their stake as an emotional investment rather than a financial one. A property owner became a partner and turned down larger offers from big companies for the site. A try at the Bern railway station failed.
