History

The hotel later added an attic tennis hall, yoga classes, a spa and fitness centre, and suites. Its tower was rebuilt after a 1967 fire.

1864Caspar Badrutt bought the Hotel Beau Rivage and began altering it.
1892Architects Chiodera and Tschudy remodelled the earlier hotel into the present building.
1896The hotel opened.
Early 1910sAn attic tennis hall, described as Europe’s first indoor tennis facility, also hosted banquets and special events.
1930sThe hotel began offering yoga classes.

2000A new spa and fitness centre opened.
2003The Hans Badrutt and Helen Badrutt suites were completed. After Rosewood withdrew in April, the hotel returned to private operation.
