History
The drinks-only tavern developed into a restaurant, expanding into the neighboring former post office. As the food offering grew, the kitchen moved from the first floor into the tavern. Paula Kleinmann continued running the kitchen after her son Gustav and later her grandson Ralf took over, retiring at 87. Ralf renamed the tavern in her honor; he later ended his lease to focus on his professional football career. The Wolf and Küther-Jankovic families now run the restaurant.
- 1949Willi and Paula Kleinmann reopened the war-damaged Heinsberger Hof as Zum Goldenen Krug.
- January 2003Ralf Kleinmann handed the business to Olaf-Maria Wolf, who became tenant and head chef.
