History
Belvédère Strandhotel opened in 1908, a year after construction began. The Dorer-Baumer family owned it for 35 years from 1912. Later work added restaurant space and private bathrooms, then upper floors, a mansard roof and expanded facilities.
- 1907The hotel was built.
- 1908Franz Stüttgen opened it in June as “Belvédère & Beau-Rivage.”
- 1912The Dorer-Baumer family began 35 years of ownership.
- 1947The Association of Swiss Master Butchers bought the hotel after wartime tourism collapsed.
- 1964An extension created restaurant space by roofing over the large terrace; the original rooms gradually gained private bathrooms.

- 1997Walter Hauenstein acquired the hotel and funded necessary investments in winter 1997–98.
- 2011Renovation work replaced pipes, enlarged the lift shaft, and added upper floors and a mansard roof.
- 2019–2020A two-stage winter renovation added 24 rooms, seminar space and 34 garage spaces. It expanded the relaxation and sauna zone and moved the kitchen to restaurant level.
