History
During Baden’s spa heyday, the hotel was a central meeting place for spa culture.
- 1800Anton Niklaus Borsinger acquired the property and undertook a major renovation.
- 1851–1876Josephine Borsinger-Heer ran the hotel after her husband's death.
- 1866Architect Robert Moser was commissioned to design a new building incorporating two neighboring houses. Limited construction left much of the late medieval form intact.
- 1897–1909Mathilde Borsinger-Müller managed the hotel after her son Franz died.
- 1967The hotel was protected as a monument.
