- The House of Motorsport presents BMW 328 successes, Formula 1, motorcycle racing and touring-car history.
- The House of the Series traces the 3 Series from the BMW 1600-2 to recent models; its lower level is devoted to BMW M road sports cars.

Vienna-based COOP HIMMELB(L)AU received the architectural contract.
- 1911–1917Gustav Otto and Karl Rapp established the industrial site.
- 2001Sauerbruch Hutton and COOP HIMMELB(L)AU shared first prize in the design competition.
- 2003–2007Construction ran from August 2003 through summer 2007.
- 2007BMW Welt opened.
- 23 October 2007Vehicle deliveries began, with Jonathan Spira the first customer to collect a new BMW through European delivery.
