History
Architect Álvaro Casanova Zenteno was involved in the building, which was inspired by a trip he made. It opened beside the Parque Forestal lagoon as a two-storey boathouse for recreational boats. Around 1944 the lagoon was removed for health reasons. Later the building housed a management centre for the park and an office of the Servicio Electoral. From 1970 it housed the extension centre of the Colegio de Arquitectos. In 2011 architects Mathias Klotz and Lilian Allen remodelled and extended it.
