History

Anton Stiffler promoted the Parsennbahn, Strelabahn, natural ice rink and ice pavilion. By the mid-1930s, Beni’s Central Bar had become a popular meeting place.

  1. 1870The hotel’s history began at a grain mill on Tobelbach in Davos Platz.
  2. 1874The inn first appeared in Davos’s tourist directory.
  3. 1897Villa Tobelmühle became Hotel Tobelmühle, run by Deta and Anton Stiffler.
  4. 1904After rebuilding, the hotel became Central Sporthotel because Tobelmühle was difficult for Anglo-Saxon guests to pronounce.
  5. 1904–1914Three extensions were added.
