History
The boarding house later became the Raby Bay Hotel, named after the Duke of Cleveland. After Cassim left, his hotel served the community for more than 60 years before storms forced its closure.
- 1856The hotel's history dates to a boarding house managed by John Cassim, serving families and visitors seeking a coastal retreat.
- 1930A new Raby Bay Hotel was built in Cleveland's town centre.
- 1959The Roberts family renamed it Cleveland Sands Hotel.
