Shorts
History
During the First World War, officers stayed in the hotel while enlisted men camped on the grounds. Actress Theda Bara honeymooned here with Charles Brabin in 1921, and Babe Ruth played golf here in 1936.
- 1903H.B. Churchill built the original three-story Pines hotel on 51 acres of woodland, with electricity and hot and cold water.
- 1917–1918Canadian Pacific Railway bought the hotel in 1917; it reopened the following year.
- 1928Construction of the New Pines Hotel began beside the original hotel. Three cottages were demolished to make room for it.
- 1929The present hotel, the New Pines, opened on June 24.
- 1931The golf course directed by Stanley Thompson opened.

- 2005The hotel took its current name, Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa.
- 2019The hotel was sold to Besim Halef, Glenn Squires and the Bear River First Nation.
