History
In the restoration the warehouses became a tourist complex, and the fort ruins on the same site are part of it.
- 1665Rui Vaz de Siqueira, a former captain-general, built São Pedro Nolasco Fort on the shores of Guajará Bay.
- 1825The Cabanagem uprising destroyed the fort.
- 1841Emperor Pedro II chose to dissolve the fort's remains.
- 1909A 120-meter quay and a warehouse of 2,000 square meters were built, with steam engines powering the equipment.
- 1962The namesake of the Maria Sylvia Nunes Theater founded the School of Theater and Dance at the Federal University of Pará.
