History

The tower is being developed by Estrel owners Ekkehard and Maxim Streletzki on a former Alcatel industrial site of about 3.2 hectares, previously used as a car park. Barkow Leibinger’s competition-winning design has a sloped form shaped in response to the existing hotel and surrounding low-rise neighbourhoods.

  1. December 2017Neukölln approved the development plan for Sonnenallee 228.
  2. July 2021Foundation preparation began, with 52 piles drilled.
  3. 3 November 2021The project was presented to the public.
  4. November 2021Construction began.
  5. Early 2022The tower’s foundation stone was laid.
