History
After the founder retired, management passed to Albert and his wife, Elise Barth. Hotel pioneer Franz-Josef Bucher later acquired it. A major renovation added central heating and bathrooms on each floor. Caspar E.
- 1860Abraham Euler-Brunner bought the site.
- 1866He built the hotel with his son Albert and master builders. When it opened, it had a passenger lift, then a new American invention.
- 1867The hotel was completed beside the central railway station as the first hotel on Centralbahnplatz. The family tradition dates to this year.
- 1907–1975The Michel family owned the hotel.
- 1920sRenovations added water connections and individual bathrooms to guest rooms.
