History

Lorenz Gredig gradually expanded the inn into a hotel.

  1. 1848Andreas Gredig bought the Gasthaus Rössli for his son Lorenz.
  2. 1896–1898Jakob and Georg Ragaz expanded the hotel into a three-wing, horseshoe-shaped complex with a courtyard. It took the name Grand Hotel Kronenhof und Bellavista, later shortened to its present name.
  3. 1914World War I halted further expansion plans.
  4. 1989The Gredig heirs sold the hotel to two Swiss private investors.
  5. 2004The investors sold the hotel to Grand Hotels Engadinerkulm, which also owns Kulm Hotel St. Moritz. Extensive restoration and construction of additional rooms began that year.
