The 2004 heritage restoration added rooms, a ballroom, and banquet and conference facilities to the corner building. The restored hotel opened on March 20.

History
Napoléon Bonaparte stopped at the inn and received a state reception while passing through. During the French occupation, it was renamed “Hotel aux trois magots.”
- 1681The inn was first mentioned as “Drei Könige”.
- 1754Innkeeper Johann Christoph Im Hof placed three wooden king figures on the facade.
- 1842Johann Jakob Senn bought the inn and commissioned Basel architect Amadeus Merian to design its replacement.
- 1844The replacement hotel opened as “Des Trois Rois” with a neoclassical design.
- 1941/42–1972Director Alfred Kienberger restored the hotel's international standing after the war.
