History

Anna Welschen cooked and managed the business and hotel rooms, while Alfred entertained guests. The Cheminots guesthouse later became Hotel Ambassador. The Welschen family has been associated with the hotel since 1945, with a lease period after their 1962 retirement. Benno Welschen is a co-owner and hotel consultant.

  1. 1945Alfred and Anna Welschen bought the Cheminots guesthouse.
  2. 1945–1948They rebuilt it as a modern hotel and added a cellar bar for international guests.
  3. 1962The Welschens retired, and the guesthouse was leased.
  4. 2000The Welschen family took the guesthouse back.
  5. 2001Stefan Welschen took over the hotel and initially worked in its kitchen as a trained chef.
