History
Before the 19th century, the building was known as Gast- und Badhaus zum Rössli and belonged to Fridolin Peter. In the early 19th century, guests used nearby sulfur springs for medicinal baths.
- Around 1840Fridolin Peter renovated the bath facilities at a sulfur spring.
- 1843The inn was renamed Gasthaus zum Schwefelbad after its owner acquired the sulfur spring in front of the building.
- 1888The inn received its first extension.
- 1897A bowling alley was added, followed soon after by the Tonhalle, a theater hall used for village life.
- Late 19th c.The hotel took the name Hotel Post after a post office opened in the ground-floor middle wing.

- Second World WarGeneral Guisan regularly stayed at the hotel while overseeing the Swiss Reduit.
- 1968The Kunz family took over the hotel.
- 1979–1980A 1979 renovation divided the ground floor into three rooms and modernized the kitchen. The restaurant reopened unofficially on 23 December 1979 and officially on 1 February 1980.
- 1986Two halls were added, including the current main hall with a mobile partition.
- 1990Edith and Peter Kunz took over the hotel.
- 1999A rear extension added 40 rooms.
- 2015A seminar room with modern infrastructure was added.
