History
- 18th c.A two-storey country house used in summer stood on the islet, the only waterside residence within the city limits.
- 1867Philipp Anton von Segesser lived in the house.
- 1876–77Von Segesser extended the filled land around the island.
- 1893The island’s southern end was filled during construction of Brünigbahnhof.
- 1926The city removed the country house, two years after buying the park.

- 1934The Schaubudenmääs funfair moved to the park.
- 1954–58The park was redesigned, and a bird aviary was relocated there from Vögeligärtli.
- 1955A water channel was filled to create parking, leaving the park no longer a true island.
- 1967The Warenmääs fair followed the funfair and has been held in the park since.
- 2008Two summer bars were established to improve social mix and visitor safety.
- 2017A public initiative led to the removal of car parking and proposed expanding the green space.
- 2023A public initiative required the autumn fair to remain in the park after redevelopment.
- 2025–31A redevelopment project is being prepared through 2027. Construction is scheduled to start in 2029 and finish by 2031.
