History

The street arose because of an ironworks in Kuźnice. Its name comes from the alpine meadow Hala Krupówki, which was there before the street was built. In 1992 the street was modernised, and the redesign was by architects Maciej Krawczyński and Andrzej Orłowski. In the Morskie Oko hotel, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz began his stage career, Helena Modrzejewska performed, and Jerzy Żuławski founded a literary cabaret.
