  • Kulm Country Club is a restaurant and bar in a historic building dating to 1905. Its 2017 refurbishment also created a public event venue with a new stage.

History

The hotel began as the Pension Faller and grew into a winter destination under Johannes Badrutt. Its grounds later became associated with winter sports and Olympic events.

  1. 1856Johannes Badrutt founded the hotel, which began as the twelve-room Pension Faller rented by Badrutt and Maria Berry.
  2. 1858Badrutt bought the hotel and named it Engadiner Kulm.
  3. 1864It became the first hotel in St. Moritz to open in winter; following Badrutt’s bet, four English summer guests stayed until Easter.
  4. 1884The hotel helped build the Cresta Run for winter sports.
  5. 1904The natural-ice Olympia Bobrun opened on the grounds, running from St. Moritz to Celerina.
