History

Founded by Pierre Bermond and André Junot, the hotel opened in 1928 and drew artists, including Josephine Baker and Walt Disney. Its history includes the 1948 signing of the State of Israel’s birth certificate. After closing for renovation in 2008, it reopened in 2010 following Philippe Starck’s transformation.
