Lima's World-Class Food Scene: Inside Maido & Central Restaurants 🍽️ …Karikuy Tours
History
Its name comes from maido, a Japanese greeting for regular customers who always return. The chef and owner, Mitsuharu "Micha" Tsumura, heads the kitchen. In its early years it sold only around 30 dishes a day, and the chef once considered closing it. An invitation to the Mistura Food Fair changed his plans. The chef counts Maido as the first Nikkei restaurant in Peru. Before the COVID-19 pandemic it held up to 78 guests.
