History

1996–1999Architekten Schweger + Partner planned Main Tower. ARGE Main Tower, including Hochtief AG and Philipp Holzmann AG, built it. Parts of the lower floors incorporate the original buildings’ historic façades.
1999The first tenants moved in on 5 November.
2000The tower was officially inaugurated on 28 January.
2001After the September 11 attacks, the public platforms closed for several months. They reopened after an airport-style security checkpoint was installed in the foyer.
September 2011Awarded LEED Gold certification.
