History
- 1815–1831Mont Orford’s name first appeared in print; it comes from the township name.
- 2006The provincial government proposed enlarging the park while selling the ski resort and golf course to private interests. An 80-hectare area was proposed for condominiums, restaurants, boutiques and a hotel.
- 7 May 2007After public opposition, the province announced it would not sell the resort.
- Since 2007The national park expanded several times, adding over 100 square kilometres of protected land.
- 2021A $4.5 million investment targeted replacing Mont Alfred-DesRochers’ 1960s double chairlift with a four-person lift. The replacement was intended to increase capacity by 60% and improve access to the alpine runs.
