The street was renamed in 1924 after the Liberator Daniel O'Connell, and the bar now stands on O'Connell Street.
- 1797Charles Smyth founds the tavern on Upper Sackville Street.
- late 1890sAlicia Lambe, a fruiterer and florist, takes the business over.
- 1913The site is the scene of a great gathering during the Dublin lockout.
