About

Nordkette is the southernmost of four Karwendel ranges, just north of Innsbruck, climbed by the Nordkettenbahn to Hafelekarhaus at 2,269 m.

Alpine Club huts in the range, bases for multi-day tours covering many summits
The Innsbrucker Klettersteig, starting near Hafelekarhaus and running over several peaks, including Seegrubenspitze, to Frau Hitt and its saddle
The Goetheweg, a ridge path running east from Hafelekarhaus to the Pfeishütte
The Kleiner Solstein, at 2,637 m, the highest summit of the range, in its western part

The Großer Solstein, at 2,541 m, is one of the range's most important summits.
The Inn valley forms the range's southern boundary, with Innsbruck just south of the range.
The Hechenberg massif lies southwest of the range, separated from it by the Kranebitter Klamm.
The Erlspitze Group lies to the west, linked to the range by the Erl Saddle.
