About

Nürburgring is a motorsport complex in Nuerburg, in Germany’s Eifel region of Rhineland-Palatinate, beside Nürburg Castle. It combines the Nordschleife, laid out around the village and castle in the 1920s, with a Grand Prix circuit opened in 1984.

Know before you go

  • German traffic rules apply. Passing on the right is prohibited, and drivers must obey posted speed limits.
  • Racing and speed-record attempts are forbidden during public sessions.

Tips for your visit

  • Tourist laps normally use the Nordschleife rather than the modern Grand Prix circuit. Each lap includes a 200 m pit lane with toll gates.
  • Check session availability before travelling and allow flexibility: accidents, repairs or medical care can interrupt public laps.

Best time to visit

  • Public Touristenfahrten generally run from mid-March to mid-November, subject to races, winter work and bad weather.
  • For an event-focused visit, look for the 24-hour race weekend, usually in mid-May, or Rock am Ring.

With kids

  • Family day on 25 October 2026 takes place on the covered ring°boulevard and includes access to a viewing stand overlooking the track.
