History
Sabu Shake, Sr. He worked as a dishwasher on Fisherman’s Wharf and later became a cook. His son, Chris Shake, now owns and operates the restaurant.
- 1954Sabu Shake, Sr. moved to the Monterey area with his wife, Isabella.
- 1958Shake bought a small Wharf restaurant that became Old Fisherman's Grotto.
- 1998Shake died of cancer on December 5.
