History

Outletcity’s roots lie in the tailor shop established by Hugo Ferdinand Boss, in a town known for its flourishing textile industry. Uwe and Jochen Holy started its first factory sale.

  1. 1972A Hugo Boss factory shop opened in Metzingen. Its success attracted other international manufacturers’ factory shops.
  2. 1995Uwe and Jochen Holy founded Holy GmbH & Co.KG to manage property, laying a basis for outlet development.
  3. 1997Bally, Escada and Joop! joined Hugo Boss in establishing the outlet.
  4. 2012Outletcity Metzingen became the first outlet in Europe to launch its own online shop.
  5. 2019The outlet’s retail space grew by about a quarter.
