History
Opened in 1915, the hotel later served as a Christian centre and holiday home.
- 1915The hotel opened under the management of Adolf Lanzrein's wife.
- 1931The Bernese Cantonal Bank took over the hotel after wartime financial difficulties.
- After the Second World WarThe Bachmann family bought the hotel from the bank and ran it for 12 years.
- 1958Gefab bought the hotel and operated it as a Christian centre and holiday home for groups and individuals. During winter, the Bibelschule Gunten/Emmetten used it to train prospective pastors and missionaries.
- 1980s and 2008Renovation work took place, including major investment in the 1980s to improve the hotel for guests.

- Spring 1998Anne-Lise and Philemon Zwygart took over hotel management.
- Autumn 2015The hotel received the 3 Star Superior title.
- 2016Beat Bührer became director in spring 2016 after the Zwygarts' 18 years of management. Chantal and Beat took over operational management that year.
- 2020The facade was restored to its original colours with heritage authorities and local tradespeople.
- Spring 2025Beat Bührer left for a new professional challenge after nine years at the hotel.
- 24 May 2025Bruno Carizzoni took over the directorship from Beat Bührer.
- July 2026Murat Baki became the hotel's leader after the director stepped down for health reasons.
