History
It opened on 29 June 1979 with SAPICA; ANPIC later joined SAPICA as a key event, helping establish the venue as an industry meeting point. It introduced protocols during the meetings industry’s 2020–2021 challenges, followed by a strong return of events in 2022–2024. Poliforum received Hall of Fame recognition after fifteen consecutive years among Mexico’s leading venues.
- 1979Poliforum opened on 29 June with SAPICA, as part of a project to showcase León’s industrial strength and connect the city with Mexico and the world.
- 1980–1990ANPIC joined SAPICA as a key event. Together with a broader programme, it helped establish Poliforum as an industry meeting point.
- 1996–2000Public authorities, business organisations and private enterprise united around a new vision for the venue.
- 2001–2019Poliforum expanded its spaces and services, gained certifications and hosted major events.
- 2020–2021The venue introduced protocols in response to challenges facing the meetings industry.
