History
The garden began as a layout by Hermann Sello and later became part of the botanical garden established on the former Terrassenrevier at the northern edge of Park Sanssouci.
- 1841–1845Hermann Sello laid out the garden.
- 1842–1844Ludwig Persius enclosed the garden with a sandstone pergola.
- 1937The garden was redesigned as a display garden with southern crops.
- 1950The botanical garden was established on the former Terrassenrevier, and the garden became part of it under the Brandenburgische Pädagogische Hochschule.
- 1991The botanical garden became part of Universität Potsdam.
