History
Schartenfels developed from a vineyard house into a summer inn and then a castle-like complex.
- 1881Gottfried Anner built a small vineyard house with a stone-and-wood tower on the Wettinger Lägernsporn.
- 1882The site opened as a summer inn with municipal approval.
- 1894The site was expanded into a castle-like complex.
- UndatedThe deteriorated tower was demolished following a request by the authorities in Baden.
- 27 June 1978Wettingen's local civic community bought the complex and funded its restaurant renovation.
