History

Originally named SkyDome, the stadium is still commonly known by that name among fans.

  1. 1982A rain-soaked Grey Cup at Exhibition Stadium prompted calls for a covered Toronto stadium.
  2. 1986Construction began on the Railway Lands.
  3. 1989The stadium opened on June 3. The Blue Jays played its first sporting event there on June 5.
  4. 2005SkyDome was renamed Rogers Centre.
  5. 2015The stadium hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pan American Games.

  • Accessible entrance Gate 7 is on the south side near Bremner Boulevard.
  • Drop-off and pick-up Gate 7 is a drop-off and pick-up point for visitors with limited mobility or accessibility needs.
  • Lift Elevators are at Gates 3, 9 and 13.
  • Wheelchair assistance Wheelchairs are not rented during games or events; staff can escort visitors to their seats.
  • Accessible seating Available on different levels depending on the event and seating setup. Reserved for visitors with accessibility needs and their companions.
