History
- 1919Franz Anton Heeb-Fritsche bought the Gasthof Säntis from Karl Locher for 55,000 francs.
- 1969Guest rooms in the old building were refurbished to improve comfort.
- 1982The garden restaurant was enlarged, and the hotel gained a spacious lounge.
- 1996An extension added a seminar room, six junior suites, a bar and a sauna area. Afterward, the hotel had 37 rooms and 70 beds.
- 1997The extension opened on March 1. The hotel became Appenzell village’s only four-star hotel at the time.
