Sendlinger Tor is a Gothic city gate in Hackenviertel, at the southern end of Sendlinger Straße on Munich’s old town edge, facing Isarvorstadt.

History
- 1285–1337The second city fortification, including Sendlinger Tor, was built during Munich’s expansion. The original gate complex consisted only of a central tower.
- 1420Two flanking towers were added as the outer city wall was completed.
- 1808The central tower was demolished.
- 1860Arnold Zenetti restored the surviving flanking towers and the inner wall with its three entrances.
- 1980sThe gate underwent general renovation.
