History

The site served as Frankfurt’s central goods station until 1998. An early redevelopment proposal centred on a musical theatre by Stella AG. The later project included a second congress centre for the neighbouring exhibition grounds, alongside wellness and leisure facilities.

2002The original project was abandoned after Stella AG went bankrupt and TrizecHahn left Germany.
March 2008The project was presented as Skyline Plaza at the MIPIM property fair in Cannes.
2011Construction of the shopping center and congress venue began on 1 June.
2013Skyline Plaza opened on 29 August.
